
Q - What are gicleé limited edition prints?
A - The name "gicleé" is derived from French which means literally, "ink spray", and refers to the method of reproduction used in the making of prints. Giclee's are printed on high quality, low acid paper and are a true, high quality rendition of an original artwork. Our prints are limited to a maximum of 250 per edition, signed and numbered by the artist. In addition, we provide a certificate of authenticity for each print, attesting to its origin. Giclee prints are a great way to enjoy your favorite art at a fraction of the price of an original painting.
Q - What is work on commission?
A - Work on commission is when a customer contracts with the artist to paint subject matter supplied by the customer. We can work from a good photograph either in an electronic version, or an original. More information is available on commissions by clicking here. Commissioned paintings make great commerations, keepsakes and gifts, and becomes an original work of art in the process.
Q - How can I purchase art from Able Art?
A - We have made it as easy as possible to buy from us. You may send in a check or money order, using our order form, or you may order on line via PayPal, and the easy to use shopping cart buttons. PayPal is a verified, safe service that let's you use any credit card to purchase from us. Orders paid by check will not ship until the check clears the bank.
Q - How are orders shipped?
A - Works are sold without matting or frames, which lowers the shipping cost and allows the customer to use a local shop for any custom finishing that is desired. We package the works in either tube or flat padded materials for safety during shipping via USPS parcel post. Shipping to anywhere in the lower 48 for $10.00 per item. A - By federal law, all copyright privileges remain with the artist, even after the sale of a work, unless the artist grants otherwise, in writing.
